In sight of around 10.000 spectators, Daniel Schorn has demonstrated his speed once again. In one of the After-Tour-Races, Team NetApp's pro outpaced Bernhard Eisel who has competed for Team HTC-Columbia at this year's Tour de France. The Austrian Champion Harald Starzengruber (Union Tirol) finished third.
"The final sprint went extremly well", said Daniel Schorn after he outpaced Columbia's pro. "Though at first I wasn't sure whether I could make it and was afraid I could finish second."
One day later, Daniel Schorn started with his teammates of Team NetApp, Michael Schwarzmann and Cesare Benedetti at the Citynacht in Rhede. Michael Schwarzmann finished 13th, which was the best rank for Team NetApp. The Italian Alessandro Petacchi (Lampre) won the race in a sprint of a break away group ahead of André Greipel (HTC-Columbia) and his teammate Tony Martin.
